TEMPE, Ariz. — University of Alabama junior Mazen Osama has been named National Player to Watch by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association making Osama the first Crimson Tide men’s player to win the national award.
Earlier this week, the 2018 All-American was named the ITA Southern Region Player to Watch.
On Wednesday, Osama, who ranks No. 10 in the nation in collegiate singles, will play No. 51-ranked Aswin Lizen from Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championships. Osama and sophomore Edson Ortiz will team in the NCAA Doubles Championships. Their play begins Thursday against Ohio State’s No. 25-ranked Mikael Torpegaard and Martin Joyce.
