Alabama men’s tennis team will play in 12 fall tournaments with 24 dual matches in the spring. UA released the schedule Tuesday. 

The Crimson Tide fall season will open with the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall tournament Sept. 14-16 at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The field includes Memphis, Miami, Oklahoma, Princeton, Rice, Tennessee and Tulane.

Alabama will also host the ITA Regional Championships Oct. 18-23 and participate in Country Club of Birmingham Collegiate Invitational Nov. 2-4.

To begin the 2019 dual-match season, the Crimson Tide will open the year with seven straight home matches starting with hosting 2018 No. 15 national seed Michigan and Chattanooga in a doubleheader Jan. 19. UA will host another doubleheader Jan. 21 when Charlotte and North Alabama come to Tuscaloosa.

Other home matches in that stretch include Northwestern (Jan. 25), Harvard (Jan. 27) and Minnesota (Feb. 1), which made a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. UA will visit San Diego State (Feb. 8) and Pepperdine (Feb. 10) in California.

Following the annual Blue-Gray Tennis Classic Feb. 22-23 in Montgomery, UA will open SEC play.

Alabama’s home league matches will be against LSU (March 1), Texas A&M (March 3)., Ole Miss (Mar. 16), Florida (Apr. 5), South Carolina (Apr. 7) and Arkansas (Apr. 11). The Crimson Tide will visit Kentucky (March 8), Vanderbilt (March 10), Mississippi State (March 14), Auburn (March 22), Georgia (March 29) and Tennessee (March 31). 

“We have a challenging schedule this season that will provide many opportunities to be exposed to plenty of great players and teams,” coach George Husack said.

The 2019 SEC Men’s Tennis Championships will be held from April 17-21 in Gainesville, Fla. 

Alabama will return all 10 players on the team from a year ago, including lone senior Mazen Osama. Freshman Jeremy Gschwendtner will also be eligible in January after sitting out last season.
