The Alabama softball team closed out play Sunday on its summer tour of Japan, playing to a tie with Great Britain and dropping the second game of the doubleheader at Naruto Sports Park.

The first game was called with the score even at 4-4 through eight innings. Great Britain was ahead 3-2 in the sixth inning when the second game ended due to a time limit.

Kyra Lockhart drove in three of the Crimson Tide’s four runs in the first game, on a single, a groundout and a sacrifice fly.

Freshman Montana Fouts struck out eight batters in the second game. Kayla Davis and Reagan Dykes drove in runs.

Alabama’s visit to Japan will continue with visits to historic sites, shopping and outings to see the U.S. national team and the New Zealand team — with UA player Courtney Gettins as one of its pitchers — play in the World Cup of Softball.
