WASHINGTON – Former Alabama standouts Alexa Guarachi and Erin Routliffe continue to impress in the professional ranks as the duo advanced to the quarterfinals of the Citi Open after defeating Prarthana Thombare (India) and Harriet Dart (UK), 7-6(3), 7-5, on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
Next up, the No. 4-seed pairing in the tournament will compete against Allie Kiick (USA) and Louisa Chirico (USA) on Thursday, with the time to be announced.
The two continue their stellar month after previously qualifying for Wimbledon earlier in July, while Guarachi became the first former Alabama player to claim a Women’s Tennis Association Title when she won the Ladies Championship Gstaad Doubles Title on July 22 in Gstaad, Switzerland.
