WASHINGTON, D.C. — The run in the Citi Open ended on Sunday for former Alabama players Alexa Guarachi and Erin Routliffe after they fell in the finals, 6-3, 6-2, to No. 3-seed Xinyun Han (China) and Darija Jurak (Croatia) in Washington, D.C.
The tandem made it to the finals after first defeating Thombare/Dart, 7-6(3), 7-5, and then Allie Kiick (USA) and Louisa Chirico (USA) via a walkover and finally against Ahn/Davis (USA), 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8), in the semifinals.
During their time at Alabama, Guarachi and Routliffe both earned multiple All-American and All-SEC honors.
