Alabama gymnastics released its fall academic report Wednesday, as the spring semester officially commenced. Eleven of the Crimson Tide’s 17 members finished with a GPA of 3.5 or better. Three of those even earned a perfect 4.0.

Junior Maddie Desch and freshman Shallon Olsen received President’s List (4.0 GPA) honors. Senior Abby Armbrecht, who’s pursuing a master’s degree, also had a 4.0, but the President’s List doesn’t include graduate school.

The Dean’s List (3.5-or-better GPA) included seniors Angelina Giancroce and Ari Guerra, junior Shea Mahoney, sophomores Lexi Graber and Bailie Key and freshmen Emily Gaskins, Jensie Givens and Griffin James.

The team overall carries a 3.75 cumulative GPA into the 2019 season, which started last week with an Alabama victory and continues Friday with a quad meet at home in Coleman Coliseum.

“As a staff, we are extremely proud of the hard work our ladies put into everything they do, whether it’s in the gym, the classroom or in the community,” UA head coach Dana Duckworth said. “That hard work paid off once again this fall with an outstanding commitment toward their academics.”
