On Senior day, the University of Alabama men’s team, ranked No. 11, defeated Florida State, 118-117, and the No. 25-ranked Alabama women’s swimming and diving team, hosting a dual match, defeated Miami, 225-7, but lost to No. 21 Florida State, 159-141. Prior to the home meet, Alabama celebrated its 14-member senior class.
Senior Laurent Bams won the men’s 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle, while senior Robert Howard took the top spots in the 50 and 200 freestyles.
Alabama’s men won the 200 medley relay, teamed by Zane Waddell, Bams, senior Knox Auerbach and Howard. Individual wins also came from Waddell (100 backstroke), Daniel Kober (500 freestyle) and Nico Hernandez-Tome (1,650 freestyle) and Nicholas Perera (400 individual medley). Waddell, Bams, Sam DiSette and Howard combined to win the 200 freestyle relay.
Kensey McMahon won the women’s 400 individual medley and the 500 and 1,650 freestyles. Rhyan White won the 100 and 200 backstrokes. Flora Molnar won the 100 butterfly, Morgan Liberto the 200 butterfly and Kalia Antoniou the 50 freestyle.
