The Alabama women’s tennis team picked up a win over ETSU on Sunday inside the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. The Crimson Tide improve to 9-1 on the season, while ETSU falls to 4-4.

Juniors Alba Cortina Pou and Luca Fabian defeated Amaro/Ma, 6-1, while juniors Ann Selim and Kim Gintrand edged Elizarraras/Pascual, 6-3.

In singles play, ETSU took the first point on court three with Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga defeating junior Jacqueline Pelletier, 2-6, 3-6. Senior No. 47 Andie Daniell dominated her opening singles match, defeating Laylo Bakhodirova, 6-1, 7-5, while Selim pushed past Yi Chi Ma, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Moka Ito came from behind to clinch the win on court two defeating Alejandra Morales, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. Play continued with Fabian picking up another point over Yunuen Elizarraras, 4-6, 6-0, 6-1, and Cortin Pou had a three-set battle on court five over Raquel Amaro, 6-2, 6-7(4), 7-5.

The Tide will return to action at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery on Feb. 22-23.
