Alabama fell to No. 5 Vanderbilt, 4-0, before bouncing back with a 5-0 victory over Alcorn State on Sunday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The Crimson Tide moves to 12-6 overall and 1-3 in Southeastern Conference play.
In the first match, the Commodores won the doubles point to take the early 1-0 edge. In singles play, Vanderbilt eventually prevailed on courts three, one and four to clinch the 4-0 victory.
Alabama dominated in the second match, beginning with doubles wins from juniors Alba Cortina Pou and Luca Fabian, along with juniors Kimberley Gintrand and Ann Selim to give the Tide the 1-0 advantage.
In singles, UA picked up victories from Cortina Pou on court three, Fabian on court four and sophomore Moka Ito on court two. After the match was clinched at 4-0, senior No. 66 Andie Daniell finished her match on court one to make the final score, 5-0.
Next, the Tide Faces Ole Miss at 5 p.m. March 15 in Oxford, Miss.
