HOUSTON, Texas. – The Alabama soccer team defeated the Rice Owls, 2-1, in a non-conference game Thursday night in Houston, Texas.

Alabama started the game strong, registering six shots and connecting on one. Freshman Macy Clem scored her second goal of the season in the 16th minute with a header off a corner kick by freshman Serena Pham.

The Owls tied the game in the 55th minute with a successful penalty kick by Haley Kostyshyn.

Sophomore Riley Mattingly later secured the victory in the 68th minute, assisted by Pham and sophomore Kat Rogers.
