PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Alabama men’s golf team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 22 Illinois on Tuesday in the final round of the Cypress Point Classic, which was held on the par 72, 6,509-yard Alister Mackenzie Course in Pebble Beach, Calif.

The Crimson Tide finished the tournament with a 1-2 record to result in a sixth-place finish. Alabama split its two matches on the opening day of the Cypress Point Classic on Monday, as UA dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 7 Duke in fourball play during the morning session, before responding with a 2-1 victory over No 19 USC in foursomes in the afternoon.
