NORMAN, Okla. – The Alabama baseball team suffered a 16-4 loss to Oklahoma at L. Dale Mitchell Park on Saturday evening. The Sooners claim the series with the win, while the Crimson Tide moves to 9-2.

Oklahoma recorded 17 hits and nine walks and the offense jumped out early with two runs in the first, followed by four in the fourth and two in the sixth and put the game out of reach with eight runs in the eighth.

Alabama’s offense collected four runs on nine hits and nine walks, highlighted by a 3-for-5 day from Hunter Alexander. The senior first baseman had a double and a team-high three RBIs. Junior Keith Holcombe went 1-for-4 to move his hitting streak to nine games, while senior Chandler Avant went 0-for-4 to end his hitting streak at 10 games.

The Crimson Tide will look to secure a win in the series finale Sunday. Alabama and Oklahoma are set for a noon CT first pitch. The Crimson Tide has yet to name a starter while the Sooners will send junior right-hander Kyle Tyler to the mound.
