Seventeen players from the 2018-19 Alabama baseball roster will take part in collegiate summer leagues spread across the country. The 17 players are split across nine different leagues spanning nine states.
Alabama will send its most players to the prestigious Cape Cod League with five total heading to the New England area. That group is made up of Tyler Ras, who will join the Falmouth Commodores, and a foursome that will head to Brewster to play for the Whitecaps, including: Brett Auerbach, Tyler Gentry, Morgan McCullough and Connor Shamblin.
Four Crimson Tide players will spot the Northwoods League this summer. The trio of Casey Cobb, Justin King and Garret Rukes are tabbed to the Willmar Stingers while underclassman T.J. Reeves joins the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Also taking part in summer ball in the Midwest will be Walker McCleney. The Tide outfielder will head to Illinois to play for the Danville Dans of the Prospect League.
Dylan Smith will spend his summer in the Northeast, playing in New York with the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game League. Headed even further northward will be Jacob McNairy and Drew Williamson. The two Alabama-born players will spend their summer with the Mat-Su Miners of the Alaska League.
Competing in Maryland will be Chase Lee, who will join the Bethesda Big Train of the Cal Ripken League. Joining Lee in the middle of the country will be Dylan Oliver. The left-hander will play for the Starsburg Express of the Valley League.
Both Daniel Carinci and Brock Guffey will head the opposite way, traveling to Florida for their assignments. Carinci will join the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs of the Florida Collegiate League while Guffey heads to Palm Beach to play for the Snow Birds of the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches.
