DOHA, QATAR – University of Alabama freshman gymnast Shallon Olsen earned a silver medal in the vault at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Friday, becoming the first Canadian woman to earn a vault medal at Worlds. Her finish helped Team Canada place fourth.
Olsen scored 14.516 on vault, placing second behind Team USA’s Simone Biles who won the gold medal.
Olsen posted the second-highest vault score after the qualifying round and the team finals.
