The Alabama softball team closed out its fall season Tuesday night at Rhoads Stadium with a pair of wins over Marion Military Institute, 8-1, and Shelton State, 12-0.

In game one, Claire Jenkins drove in the first runs in the bottom of the first on a two-run single, with Elissa Brown and Kloyee Anderson crossing the plate. Kayla Davis tacked on three more with a home run in the bottom of the third to make it 5-0. A pair of RBI groundouts in the fourth made it 7-0 and an RBI single from Kyra Lockhart in the sixth inning gave the Tide an eight-run lead.

Montana Fouts stuck out six over 3 2/3 shutout innings with just one hit allowed for the win.

Against Shelton State, KB Sides started the scoring with an RBI single in the bottom of the second and Skylar Wallace tacked on two more with a single. A two-run single from Bailey Hemphill in the bottom of the fifth made it 5-0 and Merris Schroder’s three-run triple made it 8-0. A sacrifice fly from Sides made it 9-0. Brown added a two-run double later to make it 12-0.

Krystal Goodman struck out four over three innings to earn the win.
