Alabama freshman pitcher Montana Fouts has been named the SEC Softball Freshman of the Week, it was announced Monday.

She went 2-0 in the circle at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Arizona, pitching a pair of complete-game victories against USF and ninth-ranked Arizona. She threw 14 innings with just one unearned run allowed on nine hits with 20 strikeouts and no walks.

Fouts has yet to walk a batter through 27 innings pitched this season and is 4-0 with two runs allowed, one earned, and 33 strikeouts.

Fouts and her teammates make their home debut this weekend at the Easton Bama Bash, playing five games over three days at Rhoads Stadium starting Friday.
