Alabama will be in the mix to land commitments from several top targets on Wednesday’s early signing day.

Evan Neal, a 5-star offensive tackle, will be announcing his decision live on ESPNU at 1:30 p.m. The 6-foot-7, 360-pound prospect from IMG Academy will choose from Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Miami and Oklahoma. Neal officially visited the Crimson Tide in late November but has since visited Miami and Georgia. Neal is the No. 20 recruit overall, No. 5 offensive tackle and No. 2 player in the state of Florida.

Neal’s teammate and 5-star running back Trey Sanders will be announcing his decision at noon on ESPNU. Like Neal, Sanders officially visited Alabama for the Iron Bowl in late November. The 6-foot, 214-pound prospect has since visited Florida and Georgia. Sanders was once committed to Alabama but backed off his pledge on Jan. 1. Texas and Florida State are still in the mix for his pledge. He is the No. 1 running back in the country.

Nakobe Dean, a 5-star inside linebacker, has Alabama high on his list, but he’s also considering other schools like LSU, Ole Miss and Georgia. The No. 14 overall prospect and No. 1 inside linebacker in the country, Dean received the Butkus Award, which is given to the top high school linebacker. Dean was in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl. His decision will be broadcasted on ESPNU at 1:20 p.m.

In addition to those three recruits, there are still other top targets Alabama could nab on early signing day, including 4-star tight end Keon Zipperer, 3-star running back DJ Williams and 4-star defensive end Ty Robinson.

Alabama wasn’t able to secure a commitment from 5-star weak-side defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux. The No. 2 prospect in the country from Thousand Oaks, California, committed to Oregon on Saturday. Florida and Florida State were also finalists.

Last year, the Crimson Tide failed to land the No. 1 class in the nation for the first time in seven years. But with 24 players committed, Alabama is poised to finish with the top group once again. It will need to fend off Georgia (No. 2), Texas A&M (No. 3) and LSU (No. 4) down the stretch.

Where the 2019 class stands as of Monday:

There are two 5-star recruits currently pledged to the Crimson Tide in defensive end Antonio Alfano and safety Dax Hill, who recently flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to Alabama.

Besides kicker Will Reichard, the other 21 UA commits are rated as 4-star prospects.
