Alabama football flips quarterback from Texas commitment

The 19th commit to Alabama’s recruiting class is one that fills a hole UA has had for months.
Ever since quarterback Drake Maye decommitted from UA and chose North Carolina in March, the Crimson Tide has been searching for a quarterback in its 2021 class. It found one in Jalen Milroe, previously committed to Texas.
Milroe is a top 100 player nationally in the 247 Sports Composite, the eighth such player currently committed to UA’s 2021 recruiting class. The Katy, Texas, product is rated as the fourth-best dual threat quarterback in the class and the 10th-best prospect in the state of Texas.
Milroe is the fourth Texan committed to the 2021 class, joining four-star linebacker Kendrick Blackshire and the Brockermeyer twins, Tommy and James, the top tackle and center in the class.
Milroe’s commitment comes two days after UA secured two commitments on the same day, from three-star cornerback Khyree Jackson out of East Mississippi Community College and four-star defensive end Monkell Goodwine from Fort Washington, Maryland.
