Bevin wipes out U of L board with exec orders
Gov. Matt Bevin has issued to executive orders on Friday that allows him to reorganize the University of Louisville Board of Trustees.
One order removes the existing 17 gubernatorial appointees to U of L board.
He has asked the Council on Postsecondary Education to provide him within two weeks with names of 30 candidates he will consider for appointment to a new board, which will have only 10 gubernatorial appointees. Bevin issued a second executive order appointing an interim board of trustees until the new board is appointed.
The current student, faculty and staff trustees are not affected by Bevin's orders and will remain on the board.
