TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been a leader for the Heisman Trophy throughout the 2019 season.

That might have changed Saturday against Tennessee.

But with 6:03 left in the second quarter, Tagovailoa left the game after an injury that Alabama coach Nick Saban called "some kind of twisted ankle."

Alabama football led 21-10 at the time of Tua's injury, and Alabama won 35-13.

Before the start of the second half, ESPN announced that Tagovailoa would not return in the second half, according to Saban. Tagovailoa did not return.
