Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Alex Leatherwood, Landon Dickerson lead honorees at Alabama football banquet

Several Alabama players, including some of the senior stars of the Crimson Tide offense, were honored as the team held its annual awards banquet Sunday evening at the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility.

The event, usually hosted by the Jefferson County chapter of the UA Alumni Association, was moved as part of coronavirus precautions.

Head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide coaching staff announced results of voting for the team’s four permanent captains: center Landon Dickerson, quarterback Mac Jones, tackle Alex Leatherwood and wide receiver DeVonta Smith, all offensive players, chosen as the representatives for the 2020 team.

Dickerson also won awards as one of the team’s Outstanding Senior Scholars, as well as the Iron Man and Most Inspirational Player and President’s Awards. The senior center was injured in Alabama’s 52-46 win over Florida in the SEC Championship Game and will be unable to participate in the postseason.

To the player(s) who have shown the most dedication to the individual and team goals of the Crimson Tide's year-round strength and conditioning program:
