The Alabama basketball team moved back into the top 10 in the Associated Press poll released Monday, jumping to No. 8 after being ranked No. 11 last week. The Crimson Tide (17-5, 12-1 SEC) defeated South Carolina on the road last Tuesday then returned home to rout Georgia 115-83 on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide was ranked No. 9 in the Ferris Mowers USA Today Coaches’ Poll, also released on Monday.

The No. 8 ranking is Alabama’s highest in the AP poll since January 2007.

Alabama was listed as a No. 2-seed in the first NCAA release of its top seeds Saturday. The Crimson Tide maintained its No. 9 spot in the NCAA Net rankings released Sunday, which included its win over Georgia.

Alabama is scheduled to play at unranked Texas A&M Wednesday night (8 p.m., SEC Network) and will play Saturday against Vanderbilt at Coleman Coliseum. Two wins this week would result in the Crimson Tide clinching at least a share of its first SEC regular-season title since 2002.
