Five-star in-state recruit chooses Alabama football
Emmanuel Henderson, the No. 1 running back prospect in the state and the No. 27 prospect in America per 247Sports Composite, committed to Alabama football Saturday.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Henderson also considered Auburn, Georgia and Clemson among numerous other offers. The five-star recruit finished the 2020 season at Geneva County with 1,147 rushing yards on 147 carries and 20 touchdowns. He caught 12 passes for 143 yards.
In recent days, Henderson, also a point guard on the basketball team, has reported numerous offers to play both football and basketball in college.
Henderson is the second five-star prospect to commit to Alabama in the 2022 class after quarterback Ty Simpson. They join four-star inside linebacker Robert Woodyard, four-star tight end Elijah Brown and three-star defensive lineman Walter Bob in the class so far.
