The 2020 national championship game defensive MVP came into his own last season with the Crimson Tide.
Here's what the New England Patriots are getting in Barmore:
Barmore has been one of the most exciting defensive players to watch over the last year. He progressed tremendously since his freshman season, and things started to click for him nearing the end of the 2020 season for Alabama.
Barmore is an aggressive player and is disruptive as an interior pass rusher. He possesses quick hands and feet. In addition, Barmore's stout stature is an asset as a run-stopper.
Greatest roster ever?:Alabama football poised to pass 2001 Miami as all-time king of the NFL Draft
Barmore is a late bloomer and only started in six games during his college career. Due to his inexperience, Baremore had some up and down games. At times, he showed flashes of his ceiling as a professional player and other times he would miss tackles and seem to lose his explosiveness. Barmore had trouble facing off against larger interior players, which he will see a lot more of in the NFL.
Barmore came into his full form at the end of Alabama's national championship season. He has been labeled as one of this year's mystery players in the draft, and could be either a boom or a bust. However, his development over the last few months has given him confidence in his abilities that should carry over into his play in the NFL.
