Metchie caught six touchdown passes in 2020 with 55 total catches for 916 yards. He is expected to be among Alabama's leaders at receivers this season with the departures of DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle, both of whom went in the first round of the NFL Draft.

In his initial draft rankings for 2022, ESPN's Mel Kiper named Metchie his No. 21 overall prospect and No. 3 receiver.
