Ga'Quincy McKinstry has long been known as "Kool-Aid" McKinstry, but the nickname has reached another level.

The Alabama football roster now has dropped Ga'Quincy and lists the freshman defensive back as Kool-Aid McKinstry.

He received the nickname from his grandma when he was born because he came out smiling, he told in 2019. McKinstry also told his kindergarten teacher that was his name when asked.

His name isn't the only thing about him that is flashy.

A Pinson Valley grad, McKinstry received the No. 1 CB ranking in the country for the class of 2021 from the 247Sports Composite. He also was ranked the No. 17 overall prospect for the class and the top player in Alabama as a five-star prospect.

He helped lead Pinson Valley to a 6A state championship in 2020 and three total in the past four years.

Even with talented defenders throughout Alabama's defense, McKinstry's skill might prompt plenty of mentions of the name Kool-Aid around Tuscaloosa during the 2021 season.
