Branson Robinson, No. 1 running back prospect in nation, sets commitment date: Alabama, LSU among finalists

Germantown running back Branson Robinson is set to announce his college commitment next month. 

The five-star recruit will announce his decision July 22. 

"I'm announcing my college decision on my uncles birthday July 22nd," Branson wrote on Twitter on Monday. 

Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and Tennessee are the schools Robinson previously told the Clarion Ledger he was considering in May.

"(I) just like the bond with certain coaches on the staff," Robinson said of his list. "The way they produce, those schools I named, the way they produce their players and get them to the NFL, that's something that pulls me towards those type of schools."

Robinson is the No. 1 running back and No. 16 recruit in the Class of 2022 according to Rivals. He is the only prospect in Mississippi to receive a five-star ranking from the recruiting service.

Robinson is the top player in the state according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He moved from No. 57 to No. 45 on the composite rankings after the recent rankings update from Rivals.

247Sports has yet to release its ranking update for the summer.
