Alabama soccer earns at-large bid to NCAA Tournament, will play Clemson Friday
The Alabama soccer team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, with the field announced Monday. The Crimson Tide will travel to face Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. CT.
Alabama (10-9-1) clinched a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament after upsetting No. 19 Auburn by a score of 1-0. The Crimson Tide finished with a 10-2 home record, marking the first time in program history that Alabama has won 10 games at home.
Alabama has earned six shutouts, including over ranked opponents Auburn and No. 24 LSU.
Midfielder/defender Reyna Reyes has been a big part of Alabama's success. Reyes was selected first-team All-SEC by league coaches. Reyes recorded game-winning goals against No. 24 LSU and Jacksonville State.
Reyes was awarded SEC player of the week after both wins over ranked teams and defensive player of the week following the win against Auburn. Reyes ranks second on the team in game-winning goals and is tied for third in total goals (3) and points (7).
The last time the Crimson Tide made it into the tournament was 2017.
