The United States Football League is back in Birmingham. The league kicks off its first season since 1985 on Saturday, April 16, and the entire season will be hosted in Birmingham. The league previously ran from 1983-85 but folded prior to an attempted move from the spring to the fall in 1986.

Here's what to know about the revived USFL.

Where are the games?

For the first season, all USFL regular-season games will be played in Birmingham's Protective Stadium and Legion Field.

For the postseason, all playoff games will be held in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Where can I get tickets?

You can buy tickets at the USFL's website here. Tickets start at $10, and one ticket gets you into all games in that stadium for the day.

When are the games?

Throughout the season, games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Week 1 gets underway on Saturday, April 16, when the Birmingham Stallions host the New Jersey Generals with a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff.

Week 1 continues on Sunday, April 17, when the Houston Gamblers face the Michigan Panthers, the Philadelphia Stars face the New Orleans Breakers, and the Pittsburgh Maulers play the Tampa Bay Bandits.

All Week 1 games will be in Protective Stadium.

How is the season structured?

The eight teams are split into two divisions. New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Michigan are in the North, while Birmingham, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and Houston are in the South.

Each team plays 10 games, and the top two teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.

What else should I know?

All 2022 USFL teams are revivals of teams that played in the original USFL from 1983-85. However, aside from the league's name and the team names, there is no connection to the original league.
