Nick Muszynski has been a force in the Ohio Valley Conference each season that he has played men's basketball for the Belmont Bruins

Muszynski earned All-OVC First Team honors each of the first three seasons he played for the Bruins — 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Nick Muszynski foot injury

Nick Muszynski missed the final two games of the 2020-21 regular season with a foot injury. Belmont lost both games — falling at Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State. 

He returned for Belmont's opening game of the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament against SIU-Edwardsville. 

Muszynski played 18 minutes in that game with five points and five rebounds to help Belmont beat SIUE 78-61

He previously had a foot injury during the 2018-19 season that kept him out of the 2019 OVC Tournament Championship.

After redshirting the 2017-18 season, Nick Muszynski earned the 2018-19 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year. He also earned All-OVC First Team honors his freshman year, and Basketball Times named him a Second-Team Freshman All-American

"I’ve always felt those types of awards are partially team awards, because rarely do players get named high accolades on bad teams," Muszynski said to Belmont Vision. "Showing that I was able to have a significant impact on a team that I not only loved so much, but also clearly had a lot of success, was very rewarding and motivating." 

Muszynski also earned OVC Freshman of the Week six times during that season. 

In 2018-19, he started all 32 games that he played and averaged 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 blocked shots. 

Belmont reached the 2019 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament with an at-large berth. It defeated Temple 81-70 during a play-in game before losing to Maryland 79-77 in the first round.

Tri-Valley's Caleb Craig is blocked by 6-foot-10 Nick Muszynski during the Scotties' 69-43 loss to Columbus St. Charles during the Division I central district tournament. Muszynski scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds,

Nick Muszynski averaged 16 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocked shots during his senior year at St. Charles in 2016-17. He started every game and helped the team finish 24-3 overall and capture a district championship. 

As a junior, he averaged 11.5 points and seven rebounds for a team that went 22-2. 

"Nick’s high school career completely surprised me," St. Charles coach Jacob Daniel said in 2020. "He’s always been a guy that keeps developing and he’s so long and so coordinated with both hands and he has skills. ... He’s one of the greatest players to ever play at St. Charles."
