The Iona and Alabama men's basketball teams meet in the 2021 NCAA Tournament first round on Saturday, March 20. 

Alabama defeated Iona 68-55. 

No. 2-seeded Alabama improved to 25-6 overall. No. 15 seed Iona went to 12-6 overall.

Alabama advanced to face the UConn/Maryland winner on Monday in the Round of 32.

Herb Jones steal, dunk 

Alabama forward Herbert Jones stole the ball from Berrick JeanLouis, and Jones took it for a dunk with 7:51 left in the second half. 

It put Alabama up 54-46 vs. Iona.

Juwan Gary putback dunk

Alabama forward Juwan Gary grabbed a missed layup by John Petty Jr., and Gary's dunk tied the game 42-42 with 11:17 left in the second half.

Isaiah Ross 3-pointer on Parker Weiss steal 

Iona guard Isaiah Ross hit a left-wing 3-pointer off an assist from Asante Gist. It came following a steal by Parker Weiss.

The Ross 3-pointer cut the Alabama lead to 33-32 with 22 seconds left in the first half.

Herbert Jones dunk

Alabama forward Herbert Jones dunked on an assist from Keon Ellis with 3:59 left in the first half. It put Alabama up 28-25 vs. Iona.
