Charles Barkley made a promise just before Alabama faced UCLA in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 on Sunday.

Barkley said that if Alabama reached the Final Four that he'll wear a houndstooth hat. Barkley, who played college basketball at Auburn, picked Alabama to reach the Final Four ahead of the start of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

"I'm going to take this blasphemy a step further," Barkley said on TBS during Sunday's pregame show. "If Alabama makes it to the Final Four, I'm bringing a houndstooth hat and wear it."

Former Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant was known for wearing a houndstooth hat.

Ahead of Barkley's comments, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson taunted Barkley for his Alabama pick.

At the end of a commercial for DC Universe movie "Black Adam," Johnson says to Barkley, "And Chuck, there is nothing I can do for an Auburn guy who picks Alabama to go to the Final Four."

Johnson then says mmm and shakes his head no. Barkley's houndstooth promise came in response to Johnson.

Barkley's immediate response to Johnson's comment was that he's been Johnson's stunt double in movies "for a long time."

Johnson played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, and during his career, Alabama beat Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl with the national championship on the line.

In the opening segment of the TBS pregame show, Barkley admitted, "It pains me" to pick Alabama basketball to win games.

"If Alabama was playing Afghanistan, I'd root for Afghanistan," Barkley said. "But on paper, they got a terrific basketball team. They got a terrific coach. Now, I will say this, the next two games — starting tonight — is when their tournament really starts."

Barkley played basketball at Auburn from 1981-84 before playing in the NBA from 1984-2000.

No. 2 seed Alabama comes into the UCLA matchup 26-6 overall. On Monday, Alabama beat Maryland 96-77 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

No. 11-seeded UCLA enters the game 20-9 overall. UCLA beat Abilene Christian 67-47 in the NCAA Tournament second round on Monday.

Entering Sunday, UCLA leads the all-time series 3-2 vs. Alabama.
