Mississippi State baseball took its final SEC series of 2021 behind a dominant performance from Will Bednar.

No. 6 Mississippi State beat Alabama 7-0 Friday to clinch a series win against the Crimson Tide. Bednar was electric, throwing eight shutout innings and allowing just three hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts.

The Bulldogs (39-13, 19-10 SEC) built an early four-run lead with a home run, a pair of RBI doubles and a sacrifice fly in the first three innings. Mississippi State tacked on two more runs in the fifth and a seventh run in the ninth to cushion the win.
