Nation's No. 1 tight end, Jaleel Skinner, commits to Alabama football

Alabama football has landed the top player at another position in the class of 2022.

IMG Academy tight end Jaleel Skinner, the No. 1 tight end according to the 247Sports Composite, announced his commitment to Alabama Friday afternoon.

Skinner, 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, is Alabama's 16th commit and fourth pass-catcher, joining Elijah Brown, Florida athlete Amari Niblack and in-state receiver Kobe Prentice.

The former South Carolina high school tight end is the No. 74 recruit and chose Alabama over Clemson, Texas, Miami, Florida State and Florida.

Greer's Jaleel Skinner (5) has received a sholarship offer by Clemson.

Safeties coach Charles Kelly is listed as Skinner's primary recruiter by 247Sports.

In-state Thompson High edge rusher Jeremiah Alexander is Alabama's top-ranked commit at No. 11 nationally followed by No. 28-ranked Geneva County running back Emmanuel Henderson.

Alabama has now has commitments from the top-ranked player at three positions as Skinner joins Henderson and Alexander. The Crimson Tide last landed Georgia offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett in September.

The national signing period is just over two months away.
