See Jeff Foxworthy call Alabama 'selfish,' plead for Georgia football CFP championship
Foxworthy, who was wearing a Georgia sweatshirt, had strong words for Alabama football fans.
"What are you 'Bama fans doing to me? I love the state of Alabama, but look, y'all are selfish," Foxworthy said. "I mean, year after year after year, it's been 40 years. We just one, just one. We love football as much as you. We tailgate as much as you. I mean, we like to be happy as much as you. Can you not just share? My mom used to say that, 'Just share.' Just one. That's all we want."
Georgia football last won a national championship in 1980.
Foxworthy was then asked to finish the sentence, "You might be a 'Bama fan if."
"If you're here every stinkin' year at the national championship game," Foxworthy said.
The CFP national championship game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET on Monday.
"I think it's going to be a great game," Foxworthy said of the national championship. "I think they're the two best teams in football. I think the night of the SEC Championship, 'Bama probably played their best game of the year, and we played our worst. ... I love the SEC. I love the fact that it's two SEC teams, because it just means more to us. And it does. In real life, it just means more to us."
No. 3-ranked Georgia enters the game 13-1 overall. On Dec. 31, the UGA Bulldogs beat Michigan 34-11 in the CFP Orange Bowl semifinal.
On Dec. 4, Alabama defeated Georgia 41-24 in the SEC Championship.
