Alabama football lands Jalen Hale, 4-star WR, over Texas, Georgia and Texas A&M
After a month of not adding new commitments, Alabama football has started this week landing two from Texas.
The Crimson Tide added four-star wide receiver Jalen Hale to its 2023 class, beating out Texas, Texas A&M and Georgia, one day after landing four-star defensive lineman Jordan Renaud.
Hale, the No. 51 recruit in the nation and No. 9 receiver according to the 247Sports Composite, and Renaud are top-100 prospects.
Hale, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, is Alabama's highest-ranked receiver commit. He joins Hutchinson Community College commit Malik Benson, the nation's No. 1 juco recruit, and Oklahoma's Cole Adams in the receiver room.
Alabama wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins is Hale's primary recruiter. Hale took an official visit to Alabama on opening day against Utah State and to Texas when it hosted Alabama one week later. He took official visits to Texas A&M on Sept. 17 and Georgia and USC in the summer.
Hale has 14 receptions for 290 yards and four touchdowns so far this season after logging 50 receptions, 1,154 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2021.
The highlight of Alabama's class are five five-star commitments: safety Caleb Downs, cornerback Jahlil Hurley, running back Richard Young, safety Tony Mitchell and running back Justice Haynes.
The Crimson Tide has a chance with a handful more five-stars ahead of the December early signing period: in-state Carver teammates defensive lineman James Smith and edge Qua Russaw and Florida edge defenders Keon Keeley and Damon Wilson.
