Alabama basketball lands commitment from 5-star center Charles Bediako

Five-star center Charles Bediako announced his commitment to the Alabama basketball team on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-11, 215-pound  Bediako played for IMG Academy, averaging 13.2 points and 12.7 rebounds.

He becomes Alabama's second-highest ranked recruit in the 2021 class behind in-state prospect JD Davison.

Bediako fills the hole left at center with the departure of seniors Alex Reese and Jordan Bruner.

Raised in Brampton, Canada, Bediako will reunite with former AAU teammates Josh Primo and Keon Ambrose-Hylton in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama now has the top recruiting class in the SEC and ranks third in the nation behind Michigan and Florida State according to 247Sports.

The Crimson Tide has now filled its open roster slots for the 2021-22 season. Bediako and Davison are joined in the class by four-star forwards Jusaun Holt and Langston Wilson.
