Former Alabama women's basketball star Jasmine Walker tears ACL, will miss 2021 season

Former Alabama women's basketball star and Jeff Davis High School graduate Jasmine Walker suffered a non-contact knee injury Friday against the Las Vegas Aces and will undergo season-ending ACL surgery.

Walker was a first-round selection by the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA and played just one game before the injury, going scoreless off the bench.

Before entering the WNBA, Walker was a three-year starter at Alabama and led the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 22 years.

She averaged 19.1 points and 9.4 rebounds in her senior season, scoring a school-record 41 points in a road win against Auburn.

The Sparks announced that Walker will immediately begin rehab on the injury.
