Alabama basketball score vs. Maryland: Live updates from NCAA Tournament in Birmingham
Alabama basketball aims to score a victory over Maryland in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday as part of March Madness.
Brandon Miller is dealing with a groin injury heading into the game. It flared up this past Sunday in the SEC Tournament, then the Crimson Tide (30-5) had him limited to 19 minutes in the game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that Alabama won in the first round of the tournament Thursday at Legacy Arena in Birmingham. Miller is Alabama's leading scorer and the SEC player of the year as a freshman.
The Crimson Tide aims to beat the Terrapins (22-12) for the second time in the second round of the NCAA Tournament during coach Nate Oats' four seasons leading the program. Alabama also beat Maryland in Indianapolis in the Round of 32 two seasons ago before the Crimson Tide lost to UCLA in the Sweet 16.

Brandon Miller is clearly not 100% and has missed all three of his field goal attempts. Tide going to need a gutsy performance from him, or for someone else to come in and help drive the offense.
10:33 left: Neither team has scored in almost 4 minutes.
12:36 left: A lot of missed shots. Maryland has started well but only leads 12-10. If Alabama can get settled in on offense, it can take control quickly here.
16:10 left: Maryland doesn't have a big that can match up well with Bediako. His play, whether he struggles against smaller guards or makes an impact against Maryland's frontcourt, will be important today.
17:03 left: Julian Reese with a quick two fouls. Reviewing a hook-and-hold in an interaction with Brandon Miller.
