Alabama football's A-Day spring game is underway, but not everyone is on the field.

Nick Saban hinted at the absence of a quarterback heading into the weekend. As warmups began, freshman Jalen Milroe was the only quarterback to not take the field.

Redshirt senior Brian Robinson Jr., a Tuscaloosa native, was also absent on offense.

Robinson Jr. rushed for 483 yards and six touchdowns last season and is expected to compete for the starting role this season.

ESPN said around 20 players are not participating.

The first-team defense was missing some key returning pieces as well. Sophomore linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and junior linebacker Christian Harris did not participate.
