Egg Bowl: Mississippi State vs Ole Miss football moves to Thanksgiving on ESPN next two years

The Egg Bowl is moving back to Thanksgiving and will be played at night. 

The SEC announced the annual Mississippi State and Ole Miss football rivalry game will be played on a Thursday  in 2021 and 2022. This year's game at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 on ESPN.

The Egg Bowl has been played on Thanksgiving 23 times in the over 100 years the two sides have squared off. Most recently, the game was played on Thanksgiving from 2017-19.

Last season the game was played on a Saturday and won by Ole Miss, 31-24.

Mississippi State and Ole Miss have played against each other every year since 1944, making it the 10th longest uninterrupted series in college football. Ole Miss owns the series record, 63-46. There have also been six ties.
