Former Alabama football star Tua Tagovailoa returning to Tuscaloosa for charity luau
The "Luau with Tua" will take place on June 29 (6:30 p.m. CT) inside "The Zone" hospitality area. There will be Polynesian food, fire-knife dancing and a silent auction.
Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama and Nick's Kids, along with Tagovailoa's non-profit Tua Foundation, which serves Alabama, Florida and Hawaii.
"Everything that Tua stands for, as far as hard work and overcoming obstacles, is what we teach our kids here, " said Kim Turner, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama. "He lived a life of respect with his family, his coaches and the process at Alabama football in front of these kids."
The Boys & Girls Club of West Alabama plans to put the funds raised toward summer and after-school programs, among other things.
Tickets start at $625 for individuals, with sponsorship packages available.
