HOOVER, Ala. — Alabama football coach Nick Saban is returning to SEC Media Days as he prepares to coach the Crimson Tide for a 15th season.

He will be joined by Alabama receiver John Metchie III and defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis. Saban is set to speak at 9:05 a.m. CT.

After winning the national championship with a perfect 13-0 season in 2020, the Crimson Tide will have to replace significant talent with a record-tying six first round NFL draft picks having departed.

Metchie, a junior from Brampton, Canada, is expected to have the opportunity to lead the receiving core as the most productive returner. He caught six touchdowns while filling in for an injured Jaylen Waddle at times in 2020.

Mathis, a redshirt senior from Wisner, Louisiana, finished 2020 with 31 tackles, five for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also had three pass breakups and a forced fumble.
