There's no shortage of buzz around Alabama football quarterback Bryce Young, and coach Nick Saban is among those whom he has impressed.

While speaking with reporters Wednesday after practice, Saban said he is really pleased with Young.

"Bryce has a really good knowledge of the offense," Saban said. "He’s a really bright guy. He makes good choices and decisions. He has a really good feel in the pocket. And he’s played really, really well."

Saban said they want to continue developing timing in the passing game with the new receivers to prompt more accuracy, but the coach noted that's on both the passer and the route-runner.

"I've been pleased with his performance," Saban said. "We've just got to get the people around him to play a little better on a more consistent basis."

Young, a sophomore, saw only cleanup duty during his freshman season. This season, he will be working with new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who previously was the head coach and general manager of the Houston Texans.
