Update: Alabama football LB Christopher Allen may be lost for season after injury, Nick Saban says
Alabama football linebacker Christopher Allen left the Miami game early in the second quarter on a cart.
After the 44-13 win over Miami, coach Nick Saban said Allen "has a pretty significant foot injury," and may be lost for the season.
He initially went to the medical tent on the sideline before being taken off the field on the cart.
Allen didn't return to the field. He was seen in a boot and using crutches in the second half.
Drew Sanders replaced him at outside linebacker. Chris Braswell also saw time.
"Dallas Turner and some of the younger players are going to get an opportunity to replace him," Saban said of Allen's replacement going forward.
Allen forced a fumble in the first half while closing in on Miami quarterback D'Eriq King. Allen tallied two tackles, a sack and that forced fumble in the first half of the season.
