Alabama football will be facing Austin Peay without a few key starters.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs, corner Eli Ricks and tight end Cam Latu did not warm up ahead of the game against the Governors on Saturday. Each was spotted in street clothes on the sideline during the game.

Gibbs and Ricks are known to be dealing with injuries, but the reasoning behind Latu's absence is unknown.

No. 8 Alabama (8-2) is facing Austin Peay (7-3) for the first time in program history.

Gibbs missed the second half against Ole Miss last week after he twisted his ankle. Ricks sustained a head injury on the first defensive series of that game.

"They're kind of day to day in terms of how they're doing, what they're doing," Saban said Wednesday about Ricks and Gibbs. "We won't be able to make that determination until closer to the game."

With Gibbs and Ricks out vs. Austin Peay, Jase McClellan is expected to be the starting running back and Terrion Arnold will likely get the start at corner. That's also what happened last week against Ole Miss.

With no Latu in warmups, Robbie Ouzts and Miles Kitselman were the primary two tight ends to start. Amari Niblack will likely also see playing time.

After the game against Austin Peay, Alabama will close out the regular season next Saturday with a matchup against Auburn in the Iron Bowl at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
