Alabama football linebacker Demouy Kennedy enter the transfer portal on Tuesday night per a report from On3.com.

Kennedy appeared in five games during the 2022 season before a season-ending knee injury against Arkansas. He appeared mostly on special teams, recording one tackle against Vanderbilt. He has eight career tackles in three seasons at Alabama. In 2021 he was an emergency option at running back, rushing seven times for 16 yards.

The former four-star recruit out of Theodore, Alabama, was rated the No. 38 overall player in the Class of 2020. He was the No. 3 inside linebacker and the No. 1 player in Alabama. He earned an invitation to the All-American Bowl after his senior season. He chose Alabama over Auburn, Georgia, LSU and others.

Alabama has lost 14 players to the portal after the 2022 season, with defensive lineman Braylen Ingraham and cornerback Khyree Jackson being other losses on the defensive side. The Crimson Tide will be looking to replace linebackers Will Anderson Jr., a two-time unanimous All-American, and Henry To'oto'o after both declared for the NFL Draft.

Wednesday is the last day that the transfer portal is open in this cycle, but players can still pick their new destinations after the window closes. The next window will be open from May 1-15, after spring practices.
