Deion Sanders, Jackson State football pause activities due to COVID-19

The Jackson State football team has paused all team activities due to COVID-19 and contact tracing within the team, a person with direct knowledge of the situation told the Clarion Ledger.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were unauthorized to speak publicly about the outbreak. 

The Tigers, who are now under the direction of first-year coach Deion Sanders, reported to campus and began practicing for the spring season earlier this month.

The first game of the season is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Feb. 21 against Edward Waters.
