STARKVILLE — After a disappointing outing against Ole Miss on Saturday, in which coach Ben Howland said "embarrassing" mistakes played a large role in the loss, Mississippi State men's basketball returns against Georgia.

The game tips off at Humphrey Coliseum on Wednesday (6 p.m., SEC Network), giving the Bulldogs (10-4, 1-1 SEC) a chance to rebound against one of the bottom teams in the conference. Georgia (5-10, 0-2) has lost five of its previous six games.

Mississippi State will be without forward Tolu Smith, who also missed Saturday's game against Ole Miss. Howland said he hoped Smith would be available Wednesday, but Smith didn't practice Monday or Tuesday.

Georgia is without two of its best players, making matters more difficult this season. Forward P.J. Horne suffered a season-ending knee injury before the campaign began, and then forward Jailyn Ingram suffered his own season-ending knee injury last month.

Without those two, Noah Baumann is a player to watch. He's shooting 22-for-40 across his last six games from 3-point range.
