'Release the GRUDEN!!!!!!' Former UT football players react to Butch Jones being fired
Butch Jones was relieved of his coaching duties by University of Tennessee officials Sunday morning. The news came less than 24 hours after the team's 50-17 loss to Missouri.
Former players did not waste time in taking to social media to react to the news.
Former Vols defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth was not shy with expressing his joy and simultaneously his suggestion for who should be the next coach: "Release the GRUDEN!!!!!!" he tweeted, emphasizing his point with six exclamation points,
Jon Gruden, the Super Bowl champion coach and current ESPN analyst whose wife was once a Vols cheerleader, has been a longtime favorite of the fan base to take over the gig. The rumors have become so popular it has developed its own name: Grumors.

Former quarterback Erik Ainge had a thoughtful response to the news and asked for Jones to be treated right "on the way out."
Other former players are ready to turn the page and are excited about the future.
